As the alternate-universe me was rushing to get the kids fed lunch in less than an hour, I was watching Cars with Sam (might as well solidly get it off my '41 Before 41' list!) and helping him write a (very belated) thank you note for some Christmas gifts, while watching Rachel draw with crayons.
In the afternoon I was a little envious of the alternate universe me because she was getting a pedicure with one of my best friends, however, she also had to completely shovel out her car and drop the kids off at various places while I stayed warm and cozy inside. And I will get the pedicure eventually. So there!
Then while the alternate universe me was driving around picking up Sam from preschool and Rachel from her other friends' house, then rushing home to make supper (and enduring the witching hour while waiting for Dave to come home), I was enjoying being outside with Dave and the kids while we all shoveled snow together.
Sometimes being the alternate universe me isn't all it's cracked up to be!
Am I the only one out there who imagines what the alternate universe me is doing when things don't go as expected?
Hmmm, I've never thought about an alternative universe me although it reminds me of a show we watched(it actually just ended...boo!) called Fringe where they go to alternate universes and stuff. Haha! I think I'll try to be content to live in this moment...I'd get confused if I was imagining an alternate life while trying to live this one. Haha!
ReplyDeleteFantastic idea! The alternate universe me would have been in bed an hour ago. :P
