Project 364 : Days 361 Through 364

Thank you all SO MUCH for living through this project with me this past year. It has been soooo fun to do and I have loved taking pictures (almost) every day. I will likely do another one at some point but for this coming year, I am just looking forward to taking lots more pictures and, maybe, even having some camera-free days (gasp!!!).

December 28, 2014 -- After a full day, Dave and I sat down with some nachos and some "Friends." It was just what I needed.

December 29, 2014 -- Sam and Rachel love when I give blood. They get treats too!

December 30, 2014 -- Dave and I went to see "Mockingjay." I was so happy to finally see it.

December 31, 2014 -- This may not be the best picture ever, but I feel like it's a good one to end with. Also, if I hadn't done this Project 364, I may never have gotten brave enough to try and take pictures of fireworks!

Project 364: Days 351 Through 360

December 18, 2014 -- Rachel enjoyed playing with her Chanukah presents -- fairy wings and a puzzle.

 

December 19, 2014 -- Rachel poses beside her favourite light display at Wonders Of Winter -- a dancer!

December 20, 2014 -- We got our Christmas tree this day. Here are Dave, Rachel, Sam, and my dad pulling our tree cart in search of the perfect tree.

December 21, 2014 -- The hat and mitten tree at church was quite full after four Sundays of Advent.

December 22, 2014 -- In an attempt to be creative I served the kids a muffin tin lunch. Spoiler: They barely ate any of it. Awesome.

December 23, 2014 -- In spite of having a full day, I took no pictures :(

December 24, 2014 -- Our Christmas Tree on Christmas Eve.

December 25, 2014 -- Rachel received a Nail Art kit for Christmas. By the time I was able to get a picture she had managed to suck a few nails clean. Gross. (Left hand: flowers, Right hand: ladybugs. I never claimed to be an artist! Ha!)

December 26, 2014 -- It was a day of playing games. Here Dave, Sam, and Rachel play a version of Rummikub.

December 27, 2014 -- Sam and Rachel with my dad before Mom and Dad left after a wonderful visit.

Project 364: Days 340 Through 350

I haven't done a Project 364 post in awhile so I have a bunch to catch up on. However, I also want to blog about some other things so over the course of this week you will get a few of these posts and a few other posts. I apologize in advance for the "Project 364" overload :)

December 7, 2014 -- I saved one of my ice carving pictures from the Christkindl Market for this day. I loved the detail in this carving.

December 8, 2014 -- Sam stayed home with a bad cough and watched a lot of "Octonauts" this day.

December 9, 2014 -- Sam was home for a second day in a row and I took no pictures. :(

December 10, 2014 -- Day three of being at home with Sam but I got (very belated) birthday cards ready for my nieces and nephew, and I got a lot of our Christmas cards addressed.

December 11, 2014 -- I took this picture of the sunset as I arrived home from the walk-in clinic with Sam. He had just been diagnosed with mild pneumonia.

December 12, 2014 -- I painted my toenails to prepare for Dave's work party the next night, but then I had to keep my feet warm in my comfort bag. It's tough being a woman! Ha ha ha!

December 13, 2014 -- The kids made Chanukah cookies at Tot Shabbat this day.

December 14, 2014 -- We went to a Waterloo Siskins hockey game this day. It was fun!

December 15, 2014 -- Janice and I delivered food hampers this afternoon. It was quite an eye-opener to see how people with poverty live in our community.

December 16, 2014 -- We went to a public lighting of our area's largest menorah for the first night of Chanukah. It was raining so you can see that in this picture.

December 17, 2014 -- Meet our mensches, Eric and Ariel. Yes, they are mini-Disney dolls. No, our kids don't know that. No, we aren't going to tell them! (I will be writing more about our mensches in a few days.)

Project 364: Days 333 Through 339

November 30, 2014 -- It was the first Sunday in Advent and our church had their Advent wreath ready to go.

December 1, 2014 -- Sam came home and showed me "the Christmas handcuffs" he made at school. They had red accents but I did wonder what they're teaching him!

December 2, 2014 -- We soaked an egg in vinegar to make it bounce. After a few successful bounces, Rachel discovered that being dropped from a height of about six inches was, unfortunately, its limit :)

December 3, 2014 -- Flu shots for everyone were on this day's agenda. We're hoping to avoid major sickness this winter.

December 4, 2014 -- Rachel was super excited about being able to decorate a personal tree for her room.

December 5, 2014 -- The annual "Dave frying latkes while wearing his Guinness apron" picture!

December 6, 2014 -- After a busy day, a night of eating nacho dip and watching "Friends" with Dave was exactly what I needed.

You may notice that the blog has a new look! A huge thank you to my friend, Sherry, who designed it for us. Sherry is so awesome and I really appreciate all her hard work. All the pictures in the header and along the side are from our family session with Jennie Wiebe Photography. I haven't posted a Project 364 in awhile so you'll get two in a row. While I have loved doing this project, I can tell I am running out of steam on it, so sometimes the only picture I took in a day was one I've already posted on Instagram. Sorry for the repeats for those of you who follow me there.

November 23, 2014 -- I woke up at 4:30am this day to get winter tires put on our car. I was home by 8am and had a ton of energy. We I got a lot done this day, including hanging the dried flax flower Dave made while we were in New Zealand. It had been framed and sitting on our piano, waiting to be hung, since mid-June. This is the most boring picture ever unless you are Dave and me and are as excited as we are that this is Finally. On. Our. Wall!!! We plan on doing a travel gallery wall as we collect more so hopefully this wall won't always be this empty.

November 24, 2014 -- This was a rainy afternoon of doing errands so I got a Starbucks to keep my spirits up. Sadly, they messed up my order and I had to go back and get it fixed.

November 25, 2014 -- It's been so cold out lately (although not really so I can't explain why I've been so cold) that I've been heating up my comfort bag every night before I go to bed.

November 26, 2014 -- I thought this might be one of the last laundry hanging out days of the year. Spoiler: I was wrong :)

November 27, 2014 -- It was labyrinth night at LOGOS. I love this night.

November 28, 2014 -- It's ironic that our flannel sheets have snowflakes on them but I've never been as happy to crawl into a pile of snow!

November 29, 2014 -- I was so happy with how this fireworks picture turned out from the opening night of Wonder Of Winter -- the light display in one of our parks.

Project 364: Days 320 Through 325

Last week I was sick or incredibly, and somewhat unexpectedly, busy, and it seems like my Project 364 suffered. I apologize in advance for what are likely some of the most boring pictures I've taken this whole year. Although Rachel is featured a little more prominently this week.

November 17, 2014 -- I was really sick this day so spent almost the entire day on the couch, wrapped up in blankets, reading, and making liberal use of Kleenex.

November 18, 2014 -- Technically, I suppose, this picture was taken on Wednesday morning as I was heading out the door to watch my friends' kids while they had a baby, but I am counting it as Tuesday's picture because 1) I didn't take any other pictures on Tuesday, and 2) It was my Tuesday night's sleep which was interrupted.

November 19, 2014 -- Sam and his friend were all set up for their sleepover. (His friend is blognonymous or I would have included a picture of the two of them.)

November 20, 2014 -- This day Miss Fashionista Rachel and I spent some time dealing with all the white stuff which had suddenly appeared. For those who care, it was 12C (53F) on Monday and there is no evidence (besides this picture) that this stuff ever existed.

November 21, 2014 -- It was Family Celebration Night at Rachel's preschool. Rachel wanted to wear her holiday dress and enjoyed "ice fishing."

November 22, 2014 -- On Saturday we went straight from a Bat Mitzvah (Jewish coming of age service) in Hamilton to the kids' party for Dave's work. Rachel was thrilled with her present of a Cabbage Patch Kid!

Project 364: Days 308 Through 319

Note to my readers: I didn't intentionally try to make my Project 364 mostly about Sam this time but it seems that is what happened. I will try to feature Rachel more prominently next week :)

November 5, 2014 -- We had Family Putting Laundry Away Time and the kids and Dave were putting their laundry away as fast as I could fold it, especially Sam. When I walked into his room I discovered he had just piled it all neatly on his bed to efficiently put away everything at once at the end. He is so my son!

November 6, 2014 -- I went along on Sam's school field trip and caught this picture of him on the bus.

November 7, 2014 -- Speaking of being my son, Sam read his first blog post this day. It was written by my friend Sherry about her family's Hallowe'en.

November 8, 2014 -- We had a quiet day at home and got some of Sam's "homework" done. Here he used a different medium to "write" his name AND he made an art project out of things he had found in nature. Sam's "homework" is more suggestive than prescriptive, and assigned on a monthly basis, but he loves doing it.

November 9, 2014 -- Sam standing with the leaf art print he created at LOGOS, which was hanging on the windows looking into the sanctuary this day.

November 10, 2014 -- Sometimes I have exciting kid free afternoons while Rachel is at preschool, and other days I have to do a quick trip to drop something off at Sam's school, before I've had a chance to shower after getting some exercise. (Also some days my only picture for Project 364 is a selfie I've already posted on Instagram. Sorry.)

November 11, 2014 -- Some days my only Project 364 picture is a picture of my husband in the mirror at midnight. Note: Dave is always thrilled to cooperate with my weird unique ideas.

November 12, 2014 -- I spent my kid free afternoon assisting Janice in making this ornament wreath. My main task was to provide the glue gun and moral support and to drink tea.

November 13, 2014 -- We had our first snow of the season this day. Farewell grass. I shall miss you.

November 14, 2014 -- Rachel wanted to participate in Crazy Hair Day so I gave her some hot pink streaks.

November 15, 2014 -- Sam was very committed to reading "The Fellowship Of The Ring." I posted a picture similar to this on Instagram but this one was taken with my "real" camera!

November 16, 2014 -- We went to check out Play With Clay at a local art gallery. It was a lot of fun.
