Hamming It Up In Hamilton

We started our journey towards New York tonight by going all the way to Hamilton, about an hour from our house. Our bus/train leaves tomorrow, about ten minutes away from Alissa's house, so rather than getting up super-early and driving to Hamilton tomorrow, we decided to stay overnight and have a ten minute drive to the station. And sadly, they are doing "track work" in Ontario this weekend so the first part of our train journey is an hour and a half bus ride to the border.
Alissa made an awesome supper of refried beans, Mexican rice and zucchini and red pepper enchiladas with cheese sauce. Yum yum yum. And then we went for a walk. We definitely need to come and spend more time in Hamilton because Alissa lives near Dundurn Castle and we walked around it, in the dark, tonight and I'd love to see it, and the surrounding scenery over the bay during the day.
After our walk, I took some pictures of Alissa and our kids. Sam was cooperative and Rachel was okay too. Sam, believe it or not, is actually saying "Cheese!" in the above picture. He didn't want to say "Thank you" for supper or not hit his sister, but he was very happy to have his picture taken.
Tomorrow we will be spending twelve hours on a train/bus on our way to visit Dave's grandpa and his aunt, uncle, and cousin who live just outside of New York City. I don't think I'll be blogging tomorrow but stay tuned to read about our traveling adventures... And pray for patience as we spend about fourteen hours in transit with two kids! Ha!

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
