Daily Photo: February 5 - 11, 2019

February 5, 2019 -- Sometimes I don't feel like much of an adult and then I find myself getting excited about empty laundry baskets (and taking pictures of them) and, well, my "adult status" is pretty much confirmed.

February 6, 2019 -- We had no school this day due to ice so we took advantage of the extra time and put the kids to work on their Valentines cards.

February 7, 2019 -- I was so excited to crawl into bed with my book and my comfort/magic/heat bag this day. Every night in winter, I wrap my comfort bag around my feet and it's so lovely. Also, this picture was taken at 8:43pm -- I was tired!

February 8, 2019 -- I made a vegetarian plov (pilaf) for our dinner from Turkmenistan. We all agreed this should become a regular part of our menu rotation because it was delicious! And it was fun to dump it out of the pot onto our big platter :)

February 9, 2019 -- Sam picks the most interesting reading positions. This has been a favourite of his lately, squatting and hunched over his book. Notice the couch, covered with blankets and pillows, which is about three feet behind him. Kids are weird.

February 10, 2019 -- Our local neighbourhood association had a skating party this day. I took both kids on my own and they had a blast on the ice! They skated with their friends, Sam played hockey, and even though Rachel took a big spill, she kept on going. I'm so proud of my kids and how they've persevered with skating this winter. They are rock stars!

February 11, 2019 -- Dave had an evening commitment so our front light was on to welcome him home. I captured this through our dining room window and you can see some of the greenery in our window boxes too. After this, I went to bed. PS. I took this picture at 8:39pm.

  1. How long can Sam sit like that when he reads? It hurt my legs just to see the picture! LOL!!! (More power to him, though!)

  2. I never noticed my parents being anything less than parents, and I wonder if they felt like we do - like are we really adults? Trent decided he doesn't want to participate in making Valentine's for his class, SIGH. But also a relief? YES KIDS ARE WEIRD!

  3. I bought our Valentine cards just yesterday and suffered through having Lance fill his out and Clarice filled out one...I gave up and wrote the rest.

  4. I was actually going to comment about Sam's various reading positions. LOL Some of them look sooooo uncomfortable, but obviously they are not. I don't think my knees would go for it.

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
