#tbt Hilton Head

So last week I started a #tbt (ThrowBack Thursday) series on our big road trip from last spring. Today I'm remembering our amazing week in Hilton Head. I loved Hilton Head and would go back in an instant. It was just so beautiful and fun.

Of course we checked out the main sites like the lighthouse and the Salty Dog Cafe...
...and we made it to the ocean a couple of times, which was lovely.
We got to experience some unique things like a dolphin watching cruise.
And we hung out with some unique creatures too!
We got to swing through the trees with Willem and Tessa...

...and we may have checked out every single mini golf course on the island! Ha!
We even got to spend a day in Savannah, Georgia.
I would love to go back to Hilton Head sometime when the kids are a bit older. We'd rent bikes and not use our car all week. We'd check out more of the history, fewer of the mini golf course (Ha ha ha!), and spend more time at the beach.

Needless to say, I loved our week on Hilton Head Island and have been wishing all this week that we were back there.

  1. I haven't been to Hilton Head and I've seen a few episodes of House Hunters or Island Hunters to know it's a pretty cool looking area. My favourite coastal place is in the Outer Banks in North Carolina. It's a bit closer than Hilton Head and to me my heaven!

  2. We had a lot of fun when we went there a few years ago. My mother-in-law wanted us all to go back this summer, but I opted for staying in Georgia. So, we're just going to go to North Georgia for a week. I'll be doing a post about it this summer. :)

  4. So fun! I like their lighthouses. I am on a mission to start going to see and photograph all of our state lighthouses and then venturing out to ones in other states. I also hope to do at least a week beach vacation in our northern Outer Banks and rent (or purchase) bicycles to ride around on. The bug really bit me last year when we went out to see Hatteras Island. I have grown tired of the more commercialized beaches, but I know my kids still love them. Sigh.

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
