Due to the threat (or reality) of thunderstorms, and a badly timed headache, we haven't been to swimming and tennis lessons since last Wednesday. Instead the kids have been enjoying a lot of time playing, both inside and outside. Currently, they are playing hockey in the playroom using Melissa and Doug pizza toppings as pucks. Whatever works. Earlier today they were bats.
Bats sleep upside down in the daytime, don'tcha know?
On Thursday, I had my last meeting for my current volunteer position at the preschool. I handed everything over and have been enjoying my freedom. My new preschool volunteer position will likely start in August sometime so I will enjoy my break.
Last night I was so tired, I went to bed at 9:30. Then we had a majorly LOUD and LONG thunderstorm which lasted from 2:20 until 3:10am. Around 2:50, Sam got understandably scared and climbed into bed with us for the rest of the night. Needless to say, I am a little exhausted this morning.
For the next few days I will be catching up on my Project 364 posts. Hopefully by Thursday I will be back to my regularly scheduled blogging. We shall see...
Sorry this blog post is so random. It feels a little disjointed and odd, kind of like life lately :)
Well I'm glad you checked in - even on a disjointed day. Hope your week gets better! Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Last week ended up being pretty good. And I can always use hugs :)
DeleteI read Lance a library book recently titled Bat Loves the Night...it was cute. Hope the weather clears soon. :)
ReplyDeleteLoud and long thunderstorm is right! I normally sleep through it but this one had me up forever! I feel your (and Sam's) pain!
ReplyDeleteI love that they were being bats! Too cute!
The fewer thunderstorms we have like that this summer in the middle of the night the happier I'll be. Geesh.
DeleteI know what you mean about blog silence. I don't mean to go so long between posts lately, but I am still figuring this new schedule out and other things happening during the week are just always keeping me from getting caught up. We are having fun though, and it is mostly good things keeping us busy. As parents, we will likely never be completely caught up with everything until they move away from home. I do not even want to think of that day so I will just take it as it is. :-) Have the kids read the cute kids book called Stellaluna about a little bat? I do love that story.
ReplyDeleteYour little bats are way too cute.
