Daily Photo: June 4 - 10, 2019

June 4, 2019 -- Ever since my blog friend, Erika, wrote about going to a Low Country Boil, we've gotten into them (Ontario/Saskatchewan style!) too. We were really excited to mark the last night of my mom and dad's visit with some good friends and some good food!

June 5, 2019 -- This planter sits outside our kitchen window. The sun shines on it almost all day so I've found that portulaca are a reliable plant for it. I love all the different colours.

June 6, 2019 -- Our Country of the Week meal was from Kyrgyzstan this day. I made homemade noodles to go with it which was a lot of work and Dave and I weren't sure they were worth it. But overall the meal was really good. It's a version of Kyrgyzstan Laghman.

June 7, 2019 --Our city set up a big screen in our public square so we could watch the Raptors game on Friday night. There is a big square outside of the Raptors' arena where fans gather to watch the game. It's called Jurassic Park. So while the Raptors have been making their AH-MAZING playoff run, cities across Canada have been setting up local Jurassic Parks. We watched the game here until halftime and then took the kids home to bed because it was 10:30.

June 8, 2019 -- Sam had a ball tournament this past week. He got to pitch in the final game and struck out the last batter with three straight strikes. This is the first year the kids have been able to pitch and there have been A LOT of walks. It's hard to get the ball over the plate so I'm really amazed with Sam's pitching.

June 9, 2019 -- Sam had an impromptu play date after church so Rachel got to determine our afternoon. We had our first visit to our pool. I was worried Rachel might have forgotten how to swim but she proved otherwise. I loved our afternoon at the pool.

June 10, 2019 -- Thanks to all our rain, our backyard is a bit of an overgrown jungle. Hopefully it will dry up soon and we can mow again.

  1. Seems crazy that it's warm enough to swim where you are because I feel like I'm still cold here in the water!

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
