Yesterday, Sam turned six. Since we just got back from our big road trip, we didn't do a lot to celebrate. We will be having a party for him, but it won't be for a couple of weeks because it's Passover and Easter this weekend. However, I did try to do some things to show Sam how special he is. He chose some cupcakes which was a huge treat because we never have cupcakes (except on birthdays!).
When I was growing up, my mom always let me choose whatever I wanted for supper on my birthday. Sam, to no one's surprise, chose tuna noodle casserole. And then I found some jicama at the grocery store, which Sam loved in Mexico, so he was really happy with that.
Then we headed off to the Lego store to buy him his gift from my parents. (We are in the process of ordering our gift to him online, if only we can get it shipped to Canada.)
As a special birthday treat, he got to stay up a little later to work on his new Lego set.
And then, even though he didn't fall asleep until after 10 last night, he woke up at 7:10 this morning to finish it before school.
I think Sam enjoyed his sixth birthday, although he is eagerly waiting for his party :)
Happy Birthday Sam! :)
