Be Careful What You Think

Just yesterday I was remembering how much snow we had last winter and thinking, "It's so nice that we haven't had as much snow this year."
But the snow must have heard me, and thought, "Oh yeah, I forgot about Natasha and that place she lives. I should make sure they're not missing me too much. I'd better go pay them a visit."
And thus, we've gotten enough snow in the past fifteen hours that schools, including both universities, are closed, Dave hasn't left for work yet (even though it's past 10am), and I'm not sure we'll excavate our car anytime before Wednesday! Updated at 11am: Um... even though most of the post-secondary institutions in our area are closed, the University of Waterloo is bravely (ridiculously?!) remaining open. Ummm... why?!?!?

(This is not the post I had planned for today, by the way, and even though I've had the original post written for a week, the snow made that post irrelevant. That original post will be relevant again soon though. This is such a mysterious aside, isn't it?!)
On the bright side we leave for Mexico in TEN DAYS so I'm saying, "Bring It On Winter!" Quietly. To myself.

    1. It was beautiful for the first few days. Now it's all gross and dirty snow everywhere. Fun times!

  4. My goodness! That's just crazy. We've only had one snow this season so far. If anyone deserves a trip to sunny Mexico, it's you all!

  6. It was the saddest thing waking up this morning to hear about the snow day and then realize that I'm an adult who has to go to work anyways. But I made it on time - tell Dave he's a wimp ;) (except I'm actually really jealous because I really didn't want to go!)

    1. Yeah, I really think workplaces should close on days like Monday as well. Dave did eventually leave for work and then his boss left early to "go shovel!" Ha ha ha!!!

  7. Well, we are likely going to be jinxed in the opposite way. We want to see a little snow, but since my "thoughtful" husband insisted on buying Evan a new snowsuit at Target this weekend (while we are having weather close to the 60s every day), we will likely see no snow at all this winter. Sigh. Just try your best to send us a little of this white stuff before you head off to Mexico, okay?

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
