aka HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!

Rachel is all dressed up for Canada Day which is about as much as we celebrated! And she only wore this for about half an hour because then she spit up all over it. sigh.

Jeremy, Hannah, Stella and Mia came to meet Rachel and Mia seemed like advanced super-baby next to Rachel. Then Tash took Sam to The Leg and downtown for a few hours and he celebrated Canada Day. He even came home with a Canadian flag which he loved.

Dave and I (along with Miss Rachel), on the other hand, celebrated our anniversary, belatedly. We went to The Cheesecake Cafe and had lunch. I had the Veggie Sandwich which was really good, and Dave had liver and onions. Which I guess he likes :) We almost didn't get cheesecake because we were soooo full but Dave insisted. I had about two bites and Dave ate most of the rest. But we couldn't finish it. Maybe next time we'll just go for dessert! Ha!

Then we stopped quickly at Old Navy at The Mall to pick up some red and pink socks for Miss Rachel. Now she's set for a few years! We came home and quickly organized the basement and then my parents arrived for Rachel's naming. Twiebe came for supper and we had Greek pasta salad and BBQd sausage and green lettuce salad provided by Mom from her garden. It was soooooo yummy!

Sadly, Dave's parents' flight was delayed and I spent about two hours on the phone trying to arrange alternated pickups at the airport (since the rental car agency would be closed by the time they arrived -- around 2:30am) and communicating with their hotel. After all that work, their flight ended up being canceled. Which meant that they weren't going to make it in time for Rachel's naming :(

After a very stressful and phone-call oriented evening, we went to bed, after writing what we wanted to say at Rachel's naming the next day.

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
