Disney Cruise 2025: Having A Fantastic Time!

Before I continue to write about our trip, I just have to share the following:

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!! Bring it on!!!!!!!!!

Okay, now back to the regularly scheduled programming :)

As a reminder, I'm writing about the European Disney Cruise we went on at the end of July. We started out in Barcelona, and after spending a full day exploring, the next day we boarded the Disney Fantasy! It was exciting to introduce Mom & Dad to a new ship, because although we hadn't been on this one before, it was very similar to the Dream, which we sailed on in March 2024.

Because my dad had a hip issue, we asked for a wheelchair at the port, as standing in lines was what was hardest for him. We were met with a wheelchair for Dad, and then we skipped every single line in the boarding process. From the time we arrived at the port, to the time we boarded the ship, was less than 20 minutes! The rest of us couldn't stop laughing as we just cruised through the boarding process! It felt a little unreal.

Sam's first stop on board was for ice cream. Every time I saw him on this cruise, he had ice cream in hand. We'd just be getting on the ship from an excursion, and Sam would already have gotten ice cream! It was so funny!
Since the first day is when all the kids' clubs are open to everyone, we convinced Dad that he had to fly the Millennium Falcon. I think he enjoyed it!
Dave, Sam, and Rachel also took a turn.
loved the chandelier in the atrium.
We enjoyed just being on board!
Mom and Dad had a separate stateroom with a balcony and we loved hanging out on it with them. The first day was exploring the ship and just relishing being on a cruise again!
Dave and I enjoyed walking Deck 4 after dinner most nights.
The first full day was an "at sea" day. We ate a lot of ice cream, I did an "art of the theme" tour with Mom, Rachel, and Dave, I did some laundry, Rachel and I walked around and looked at the various door magnets (and took pictures of some of our favourites!), we played Midships Detective Agency, the kids spent a lot of time in the teen club, and we just relaxed. I may have even taken a nap!
That night was "formal night" and the Captain's Reception (also known as "free alcohol night"!).
We were laughing so hard because one of the servers was clearly looking out for my dad and kept bringing him drinks. He often had one in each hand and another one waiting for him. Dad didn't drink them all and kept passing them off to me and Dave! Hahahaha!!! Sam was clearly at the teen club most of the time, or getting ice cream, because he is barely in any of my pictures on the ship!

I love the picture of my parents and the kids but Rachel and I are kind of hidden in the family photo. Ooops. I think we went to the shows one of these nights but mostly we were just in relaxation mode.

Again, I just love the details on board!
On the second day, which was also an "at sea" day, we were up bright and early as we sailed through the Strait of Gibraltar. The sunrise was incredible but the Rock of Gibraltar was hard to see through some fog. Rachel and I enjoyed fancy coffee from the coffee bar as we hung out with Mom & Dad on their balcony. We passed the Rock of Gibraltar around 6:30am so it was an early morning.

We also bought some souvenirs in the shops on one of our "at sea" days. I decided I wanted a new Disney Cruise cup, which I enjoyed using for the rest of our sailing.
Again, this was a very relaxing day with lots of down time, visiting with Mom & Dad, and enjoying the ship. I think this was the day when Mom started to come down with a cold, and the evening where I went to bed really early because I felt like I was getting sick too. Thus, I don't have a lot of pictures because, if I recall correctly, I didn't even stay through all of supper.
Despite that, these were some of the most relaxing days of our summer because we had nowhere to be and we didn't have to cook or clean! I really do love "at sea" days on a cruise. And it was good we had so much down time because most of the rest of our vacation was very on the go.

  1. That looks like such a lovely ship! We've never been on a Disney cruise but I do enjoy a nice quiet at sea day when we cruise too... I just don't like too many of them in a row or I start to get a bid bored but they are a great way to start and end the trip since they are so nice and relaxing!

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
