Currently: October 2025

It's the first Monday in October but I'm just now linking up with Jennifer at My Joyful Life for "Currently." I couldn't find the prompts before Wednesday morning and life has been busy since then. It's all good stuff - there's just a lot going on. I did write the ideas for these prompts on Wednesday during the day, but I just didn't form them into coherent sentences until yesterday :)

[loving]

The kids have so many school trips right now and I am "loving" it. Sam had an Outdoor Ed back country camping trip last week and in a few weeks, Rachel is heading off for a three day geography trip. It all adds to the busyness of our lives but, even five years after Covid shut everything down, I'm just so happy for the normalcy. I don't want to take it for granted.

I am also "loving" the Outdoor Ed parent group chat! I was laughing so hard at some of the comments last week as we shared our experiences of getting the kids ready for their trip. It was very validating to know other parents are in the same boat and it's not just my kid!
[anticipating]

My parents are on a cruise of Eastern Europe right now, and while I'm very envious (as Eastern Europe is one of the few places left on my travel bucket list), I'm also "anticipating" all the pictures they are sending to us. I love seeing what they get to experience as they travel.

I'm also "anticipating" the day when I'll get to visit some of those countries, although we have nothing planned to get there right now. Some day...

[looking forward to]

OCTOBER BASEBALL!!!!!!!! (Raise your hand if you're surprised by this answer!!! Hahaha!!!) I didn't actually get to watch Saturday's game at all (too much going on) but I'm writing this on Sunday morning and my schedule is clear for this afternoon. Here's hoping Sunday's game is as exciting as Saturday's was!!!
[wearing]

I'm "wearing" all the Blue Jays' gear -- even to work! I have a zip up sweatshirt which has been an excellent, timely, layering piece this September. And I'm not the only person wearing Jays' gear. I love being out and about and seeing everyone in their Jays' wear and so excited for the playoffs!

[cooking]

I've been loving my weekly night with Janice. It's happening on Tuesdays this year, and since Rachel's dance starts really early on Tuesdays, Janice and I have been "cooking" together. She plans the meal and I am her sous chef! She's introduced me to some delicious soups, which I love.

Last week, Dave had the day off on Tuesday, and Sam was gone for his camping trip, so Dave joined the party and we cooked Earl Grey Tea Salmon. It was soooooo good!

I should have gotten a picture of the final product!

So that's what's up with us "currently" in October -- baseball, trips, and heading towards fall.

  3. As a Royals fan, I have no vested interest in post-season baseball, but my Grandpa instilled in me a deep hatred of the Yankees so I am rooting for your Jays!

  8. Okay - - Blue Jays! - - Let's - play - ball!!
We've been watching some of the games when we can find them, and are glued to our apps tracking the play-by-play the rest of the time! Were so excited when they closed out the first series tonight and I'll make sure to rib my boss (he's a Yankees fan for some reason haha) tomorrow.
Just now getting around to visiting some of my "currently" friends - hope you're having a great week!

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
