Celebrate Good Times!

In January 2008 Dave and I took a dance class offered in Edmonton called "How to Survive Your Wedding Dance." The class taught us a little bit of everything and Dave and I really enjoyed it. We didn't really pick our first song, it kind of picked us. It was the song that first started to bring us together and it's totally cheesy. Are you ready for it? Our first dance was to "When You Say Nothing At All" by Ronan Keating from the movie Notting Hill.

Even though Dave and I were taking classes I didn't want to spend the whole first song with just us on the dance floor so we asked our parents and two couples who also got married in 2008 to join us on the dance floor after the second verse. Dave was shocked that his parents actually agreed to do this since he had never seen them dance before :)

Then because Dave is Jewish, as I may have mentioned before, it was time for the Hora. I had a lot of fun during it, as you can tell in the pictures, and Dave just looked slightly worried the whole time. It was so neat to be high above our family and friends as Jews and (mostly) Mennonites danced around us laughing.

Then it was time for everybody to let loose! And they did!

Dave and I danced with our nieces and nephews.

I danced with my dad and Dave danced with my mom.

My grandma got out on the floor. It is tradition for her to dance with the groom at each of her grandchildren's wedding's and I'm so glad she got to dance at mine. As I mentioned earlier, my grandma was 101 at our wedding!

Someone started a congo line! Ha ha ha! I love how my cousin Lisa is inviting people to join in and yep, there's Grandma right between Dave and my dad!

And all the women danced together (I don't remember what the song was) and Dave showed off some sweet break dancing moves. Which totally made me laugh!!!

To end the night off it was just my mom and dad and Dave and I dancing. And then we went to our hotel and crashed because it was a beautiful wedding day and wonderful celebration and we were E-X-H-A-U-S-T-E-D!

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
