February Shenanigans

So although February has mostly been getting the nursery ready for Attila's arrival, there have been a few other things going on. So here are miscellaneous photos from this past month. First on the agenda was convincing Dave he needed a haircut! He wasn't so sure :)

Dave finds it very funny that Natasha can't quite eat comfortably at the table anymore. Sometimes it's just handier to use Attila as a "table." Don't worry, Natasha won't do this once Attila is born :)

Solely in the interest of making sure... Attila... is fattening up enough, Natasha eats buttercream brownie bars. Sometimes, she eats two, just so that she can get one also! But it's mostly for... Attila's... sake. (The wine in the bottom corner of the picture was Natasha's dad's. Just in care you were wondering. Or worried.)

We weren't sure we had enough newborn-3 mo size sleepers (we only had four) so when Natasha's parents visited last weekend, Natasha's mom decided to get a few more. We think she really enjoyed buying them! So here's Attila's sleepers wardrobe for his/her first few months of life. Aren't they cute?!?!?

And back to the star of the show. Here's Attila at exactly 36 weeks. We're so looking forward to meeting him/her.

More nursery transition

Dave puts the finishing touches on the ducks.

Attila is 33 weeks and 2 days in this picture.

We hung lights for nighttime and the
bookshelf is more filled with books for Attila.

The bookshelf and the Moses basket. The
Moses basket is where the crib will be.

The rocking chair and the rug.

Dave with some of the baby items we've inherited,
mostly from Natasha's cousin.

The change table fits nicely in the closet. We are going to
be using a diaper service but we have a package of
disposables and wipes ready, just in case!

The Moses basket close up. It has ducks on it and
we bought a duck sheet to go with it.

The guest room has undergone some changes as well.
We now have a more comfortable futon (or so we've
been told!), a night table, and a desk.

From office to nursery

Here's the transition from "the office" into "the nursery." Enjoy! These first few pictures you may remember from our "welcome to our house" post back in September 2007. This is what our office looked like before we started turning it into a nursery.

The shelves had a lot of our stuff on them. We got rid about 2/3
of these books and packed most of the rest away.

We gave Dave's desk to a friend of ours. Natasha's desk is turning
into Attila's dresser and will go on the wall where the shelves were.

The shelves now have a lot more stuff for Attila on them.
And this wall is where we are painting the mural.

Attila and Natasha leaning against the shelves, waiting to paint.
Attila is at 32 weeks and 1 day in this picture.

Dave showing off the wall where we are painting the mural.
Obviously we hadn't started painting at this point :)

Dave is starting on the duck pond water.

The sky is done, the duck pond water is done,
and Natasha is starting on flowers.

Dave starts in on the ducks. He drew them free hand.
Natasha was very impressed.

The sun is in the sky. Now we need some clouds.

Obviously we aren't quite finished yet but this gives you a small taste of what part of Attila's nursery will look like. More photos to come as this project evolves...
