Dear Dave: While You Are Away

Dear Dave --

This is some of what happened while you were gone today. It was finally cold enough (18C) that Sam and I ate oatmeal for breakfast. Rachel had her normal bananas and yogurt. Sam is actually smiling in this picture, believe it or not!

Rachel and Sam played pretty well together except for when Sam had some sharing issues. He eventually worked them out.
Rachel woke up at 8:30 and so was tired by 10:30. I put her down for nap. Then Sam watched a Mighty Machines video...

...while I turned this...
...into this! Yes, I was very proud of myself :)

Rachel woke up after half an hour and I discovered her bottom right molar finally decided to make an appearance. Yay! Sam wanted to play with Rachel in his room so I did laundry and swept and dusted downstairs while they played. Then I opened Sam's door and discovered this:

Yep. That would be almost every single board book from off of his shelf on the floor. (He was really good about helping me clean it up after his nap -- he brought the books to me and I put them on the shelf.)

Auntie Lorna came for a visit and I showed her Rebecca and AJs wedding invitation. Sam was very curious about the hunting picture and asked, "What is hunting?" I explained, "It's when you go and look for animals." Later on I found this:

Sam had hidden a bunch of animals all over the main floor. When I asked what he was doing he said, "I'm hunting!" I laughed and laughed and laughed!

And when you wanted to know what a "cupboard duet" was, tell me what else you might call this:

And I know you felt bad about leaving the garbage, recycling and green bin to me (although you made it super-easy by gathering everything into the proper bins) but I had a helper so you needn't have worried!

And that is some of what we did today!

  1. Oh my goodness, I love his idea of hunting! That is hilarious! And I would love visiting your house if those sweet faces greeted me at the door. I love that my kids greet me at the door when I get home from work or school! Looks like a fun day for all!

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
