Looking Back...

The beginning of July was a little crazy around here so I never got around to doing a June review. Therefore I am combining June and July's review into one blog post. So June, how'd you do???

I had a really great (belated) birthday party with friends +3
I had some really rough parenting days -7
We went to Stratford with Tim and Janice and I got more Fiestaware!!!  +4
Rachel turned two and we had a fun rainbow themed party for her +3
Sam had his last day of preschool -4 (This is a minus because Sam loved going to preschool and I loved having him occupied for two afternoons a week. And now he will be in Junior Kindergarten full-day, everyday in September and we won't talk about how sad that makes me.)
I set out some goals on the blog and achieved them!!! +2
We worked on toilet-training Sam  +4/-3
Dave and I celebrated five years of marriage with a lovely tea and our first kid-free night in over two years +5

June's score: +7 (This is more a reflection of "I really can't remember much of June" rather than that June really sucked. This is why I should do these monthly reviews shortly after the month ends, rather than two months later.)

Now for July:

We got together with good friends from Edmonton for Canada Day!!! +5
Rachel's speech really took off, thanks to seeing a speech therapist +10
Rachel didn't sleep, and was very shriek-y, on our four hour plane ride to Saskatchewan -3
I had an ear infection -2
We (mostly Dave) had a nasty time of it with our hedge (There was more to the hedge story which just didn't get told on the blog. sigh.) -5
I found out I didn't get the job I applied for, which was actually okay. +1
We got to spend some time with Dave's extended family +5
Sam, Rachel and I had an awesome time in Saskatchewan with my parents, including an excellent Target trip with my mom. +12
The mosquitoes in Saskatchewan were AWFUL -3
Sam ran away at Target. -3
I got an Erin Condren planner!!! +5
We participated in our church's VBS. +3
VBS was e-x-h-a-u-s-t-i-n-g. -1

July's score is +24 which I think is actually pretty decent.

As I've said before, it's a good exercise for me to rate my months so I can see how they compare to each other and how many good things there (usually!) are going on each month.

  1. You should know that as I type this comment, I'm drinking a cold Coke. :)

Guess what? We're interviewing the Fiestaware folks on our show this month!

I love your rating system. If I didn't think I'd overthink my own system...I'd do it!

    1. I have to go and find the interview with the Fiestaware people if you have it on your website. In fact, I've been thinking I should see if I can live stream your station so I can listen to your show. It sounds like a lot of fun!

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
