I'm linking up with all the "Not Just A Mom" bloggers. Today the conversation is about favourite phone apps.
Honestly, I don't have a ton of apps on my phone. I don't get excited about each and every place I know having an app for me to access information from my phone. However, I thought I would share the few apps I have that I use fairly regularly.
Honestly, Instagram is probably my favourite app and I check it multiple times a day. I keep up with my blog friends, I keep up with some family members this way, I see what local businesses are up to, and I keep up with friends from church. Instagram is my absolutely my "go to."
Yes, the MLB app is one I often check during baseball season. Nothing makes me happier than seeing notifications from my Jays pop up. This is one I check almost every day during baseball season (which starts in 24 days!!!!!!)
Before Covid, the Disney Cruise app was another one I checked regularly. Before you set sail, you can have a cruise countdown which is so fun. Sadly, our cruise app is currently counting down to a cruise we're not actually going to take (thanks for nothing Covid), but hopefully one of these days, we will be able to cruise again.
You likely aren't as familiar with this app, but this was where I tracked my virtual Camino walk. It's the app for The Conqueror Challenges. I finished my walk this past Thursday (whooo hooo!!!) and now I'm trying to figure out which virtual walk I want to do next and when I want to start it. It was so motivating for me to log my kilometres!
Yes, I like Gardenscapes. I can't remember when I started playing it and I can go a week or so, forgetting to play, but I do like this game. I need some way to garden virtually when I can't do it for real! Hahaha!!! I also have Homescapes downloaded but I don't love it as much and don't play it near as often.
Before Covid, I kept up with coupons through Flipp and would use it for price matching. However, most grocery stores around here have stopped price matching, due to Covid, so I haven't used this in about a year. If we get back to "normal" and stores will price match again, I have a feeling I'll use Flipp more often.
I technically have the FitBit app on my phone but I've never been able to get it to work properly, so I use it on my (very old) iPad. I don't check my FitBit as often, except to track my kilometres for my virtual walk, but I do wear it constantly still. One of these days, I'll probably break down and get an Apple Watch but, as you may have figured out, I'm just not all the tech-y.
I do have a few other apps that I've had to download for the kids' activities (TeamSnap for Sam's baseball and TalkingPoints for Rachel's classroom this year) but I don't use them regularly. Other than that, I don't really have a lot of apps on my phone.
I'm looking forward to reading the other posts in the link up to see what apps I might be missing out on. Or maybe there are some other people out there like me -- not hugely into apps -- and I'll delete even more of my apps. Hahaha!!!
PS. Edited to add, since reading some of these posts I've already downloaded two more apps -- a water reminder one and a hiking one, so I highly suggest you check out the other posts in the link up. You can find the link up here.
I am a over-user of IG and the FB/FB messanger apps...and twitter! Then I edit in pictap-go and now use the Peloton app a ton, plus all the google apps for work bc that's non-stop!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing what apps people use. Instagram is my obvious favorite too!
ReplyDeleteInstagram is my fave too :)
ReplyDeleteDo you have the Covid Alert App?!?
ReplyDeleteYay for MLB :) Go Jays.
I do have the Covid Alert App but it's too expensive to keep my Bluetooth on all the time so it doesn't really work for me. I should probably figure that out though...
DeleteOkay, so I just did some searching and clearly I don't understand Bluetooth at all... We'll see what happens when I have it on all the time.
DeleteThis is fun to read! IG is probably my top app too. I recently deleted FB from my phone. It logged out and I decided to see if I could manage without it on my phone rather than logging back in! My second top one is realtor.com because I LOVE LOOKING AT HOUSES!!! Also love Marco Polo and the 1 Second Every Day App for our life chronicle. In comparison to most, I'm sure I don't have many apps. I'm like you!
ReplyDeleteIG used to be my most used app until I deleted it for awhile. I think that was two or three months ago. I can't believe I have been off of social media that long!! I need the break. I use the FitBit app daily. Love it!
ReplyDeleteIG is my favorite app too! I had to set a time limit for myself, ha.
ReplyDeleteI used to do FitBit before my Garmin & it threw me for loop seeing the icon. I was like, I know what that is.. but couldnt place it -LOL. Guess its been awhile since I used Fitbit
ReplyDeleteI play gardenscapes too! I have used the Disney app for tracking line/ wait times when we were planning our trip but haven't opened it in over a year now..
ReplyDeleteYeah, I haven't opened the cruise app since we booked our cruise last February. And now I don't even want to see the countdown -- it's too sad.
DeleteI love Instagram too, but I had to set a timer because I can so easily spend way too much time on it!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's a good idea to set a timer. I also spend way too much time on Instagram.
DeleteOh this is interesting! I also have and love Instagram, it's definitely the app I spend the most time on. I get on FB too although not as much. Hmm, I'd say the other app I probably use most is Amazon... or Target.
ReplyDeleteIf we had Target in Canada I'd probably have their app. I LOVE Target!!!
DeleteI don’t think I follow you on insta. What’s your user name on there?
ReplyDeleteI love that you have a garden scape app! I shouldn't be surprised. My top apps are Instagram and then producitvity apps like my list apps, reminders, etc.
