KC FAMILY VS THE GOOSE by Rachel
The KC family was just coming back home from a walk in the city (AGAIN). On their way they saw a goose :o. When Dave saw the goose, he said, “Look a goose came back from the south!!!!!” He was so excited. The next one to see the goose was Natasha and she got really nervous. When Rachel saw the goose she got so nervous she asked her dad to take a picture. Finally Sam came. He suggested that maybe they should walk around the goose so as not to scare it. They all agreed and lived happily ever after (goose included).
Outside Time!!
by Sam
Today Sam, Rachel, Natasha, and Dave had a lot of outside time. It was a beautiful day. Sam and Rachel played a lot of baseball. They played against each other, with Dave on Rachel’s team, Rachel on Sam’s team, Rachel practicing with Sam, and Sam, Rachel and Dave playing catch. They also all went to get Sam’s new bike, named “Daddy’s Sweater.” Sam and Rachel went biking on the street when they got home, but then Sam fell and decided to stop. Sam and Rachel drank Coke floats after they got home from getting Daddy’s Sweater. A Coke float is ice cream in Coke. Natasha read outside as well. Sam and Rachel also played on the trampoline. They all had a lot of outside time. They also had inside time, but that is not the point of this article.
Playing Bunt Baseball
by Rachel
Today
"I" played bunt baseball with my brother. First, I had to learn how to
play so I got throwing lessons from Sam. Then he taught me how to run
faster. (It helped that I played bunt baseball this morning.) Next Sam
helped me build up my bunting skills. (It was hard.) After that Sam
helped me build up my pitching skills. Finally, we were ready to play.
Have fun!!!
Cemetery tour
by Sam
Today Sam, Rachel and Natasha did a cemetery tour. They went to Mount Hope Cemetery and tried to find the graves of famous people who had been buried there. They brought jelly beans so they didn’t starve. These are the people they found: Casper Braun, Abel Walper, the Susand family, Elizabeth Zeigler, Louis Jacob (L. J.) Breithaupt, Louis Orville (L.O.) Breithaupt (Son of Louis Jacob), H. G. Lackner, Henry Louis Janzen, James W. Connor, B. A., David Forsyth, B. A., William Pipe, M. D., and George Schlee. They didn’t actually find the graves of David Forsyth and William Pipe.

Exploring Local History
by Natasha
One KCUT family came face to grave with local history today when they decided to explore a cemetery. Armed with jelly beans, the intrepid explorers headed out, depending only on a small map.
Much to their dismay, they discovered that cemeteries are not necessarily logically laid out (or maybe it was their map that wasn't logically laid out) and their tour included much backtracking and searching for names.
They realized that families in the late 1800s/early 1900s were not very creative when it came to names and that many members of one family might be named Louis or Henry for instance. Distinguishing one from the other meant research into middle initials and dates of birth and death.
After learning about ten to twelve important members of the world beyond the KCUT's small borders, the KCUT family returned home to gravely consider what they'd learned and to sleep off the effects of too many jelly beans.
*no graves were harmed in the exploring of the cemetery

Nunchucks are quite cool
I think they are amazing
I sure love nunchucks
Why is the grass green
It is very confusing
I don’t know at all
I fell down a hill
It was so,so,so painful
Don’t try it at home
I am very mad
In fact I am quite outraged
Why, you won't find out

KCUT Royal Family Uses Royal Carriage
by Natasha
After months of sitting, and wondering if it had a purpose anymore, the entire KCUT royal family used the royal carriage today. The family needed to deposit some gold in the royal coffers and hold up their end of a bartering agreement with the citizens of the HEUT.
Queen Natasha declared that the prince and princess needed to come to ensure that they remembered how to behave when on a royal outing. "After being cooped up on the royal grounds for months, I wanted them to be refreshed on proper behaviour when in public," she explained, noting the the prince and princess did not leave the carriage.
The family was able to complete their barter exchange with the HEUT by leaving a package at the borders and sending a royal text, explaining that the package was waiting at customs. When they finally returned home, Princess Rachel, exhausted from her journey exclaimed, "It feels like we just got back from a trip around the world."

KCUT Family Spends 27 Hours A Day Outside
by Natasha
Now that the weather is warming up, the families of the KC Unified Territories are enjoying spending all the time they can outside. "I want to sleep out here! It's so nice!" exclaimed Rachel.
After a spring filled with bursts of rain, or even snow, the warmer days mean that activities which normally take place indoors are now happening outside as much as possible. Great minds across the KCUT are gathering to see if they can plan how to set up an outdoor bathing area. "After all, if no one ever wants to come inside again," explained Dave, "we will need to address the issues of hand washing and bathing.
When asked what she was most looking forward to, KCUT resident Natasha answered, "Reading in the sunshine, of course. I have my spot all staked out."
Meanwhile, in an amazing feat of bending the space/time continuum, the KCUT royal family managed to spend 27 hours outside the the other day. "We were exhausted," Prince Sam admitted, "but all the fresh air was worth it."

Unexpected Meteorological Phenomenon Reported
by Dave
After an extended period of cloudy days, intermittent rain, and generally grey skies, KCUT residents were startled on Sunday morning to see a mysterious glowing orb in the sky. According to initial reports, this orb, which locals spontaneously nicknamed “the sun”, emitted so much heat that residents were soon tossing aside their jackets and sweaters, and some were even so bold as to wear T-shirts outside.
“I don’t know where this thing came from, or what it’s doing up there in the sky,” enthused one KCUT citizen, Rachel, “but I sure am glad it showed up. Now I can jump on the trampoline without putting on three layers of clothing first!” Neighbourhood local Sam agreed, for the most part. “The warmth is definitely appreciated,” he began, “but I’ve noticed that staring directly at it doesn’t seem to be a very good idea, and I wish I knew how long it was planning to stick around for. I’ve got a baseball game planned tomorrow, and I’d like to know if I should plan on wearing my extra-thick batting gloves.”
According to KCUT meteorologist Natasha, the “sun” appears on a daily basis in other parts of the world, and in some places is so common that its presence is hardly noticed. Reports from regions far from KCUT’s borders indicate that, if the “sun” remains for an extended period of days (or even weeks), residents can expect elevated temperatures, a significant increase in time spent outdoors, and possibly even the emergence of a skin condition known as a “sunburn”. When asked for a comment, local scientist Dave remarked “While this ‘sunburn’ thing doesn’t sound very appealing, if the “sun” sticks around for more than a day or two, I think it’ll be worth it. Now where did I put my baseball cap?”
This makes me smile! I actually love the cemetery exploring idea.
