Okay blogging friends -- can I be honest with you here for a minute? I would like to hit one of these Friday Favourite Moments posts and exclaim, "This was a GREAT week!" However, this week is not that week. And it feels like I haven't had a great week for quite awhile. This past week was filled with sickness, cancelling plans (due to weather), endless shovelling, and yes, more crying. sigh. I know that, eventually, great weeks will return but I think I'll be waiting awhile yet... Until then, here are my favourite moments from this past week.
1) Valentine's treats
I have a co-worker whose family is going through unimaginable loss right now (I won't say more than that but, if you think of this family, please pray for them) and so she has taken some time off work. Well, on Valentine's Day she sent in a few treats for some of the staff and I felt so honoured to be included. And with Lindor chocolate no less.
2) Playing in the snow
While dealing with all the snow we got this last week was not a favourite, playing on the big piles of it with Rachel was admittedly a lot of fun. Plus I'm super thankful we spent some time shovelling the big snowbanks towards the middle of the yard on Saturday so we had somewhere to put all the snow that fell on Sunday. (Some reports are saying we got 70 cm (27 1/2") of snow in about 72 hours. Phew.)

3) Tea
I started getting a sore throat on Saturday night and Tuesday morning when I woke up, I couldn't talk. I ended up taking two days off work, and even when I returned to work yesterday one of my co-workers teased me saying, "Ooooh, you brought your sexy voice to work!" I laughed really hard at that one, sounding a lot like a honking goose! Anyways, the point of all this is that I made myself fake Starbucks Medicine Ball tea at home this week (orange tea, a splash of lemonade, and a spoonful of honey) and then another co-worker brought me a real Medicine Ball tea from Starbucks yesterday. Tea is the only reason I've been able to talk these past few days and I am so thankful.
4) Family soaps
If you've read my blog for awhile, you may remember that one of our family's little treats is we each get our own soaps at Bath & Body Works (B&BW). Yes, when you come visit us, you have four soap options in the bathroom! Hahahaha! Well, the past few months have been super busy and trying to get all four of us to B&BW for more soap has not happened. But earlier this week the stars aligned (ie - good weather, lack of dance, and our health!) and we made it. So now we're back to four soap options in our bathroom and I couldn't be happier about it! It's the small things in life :)
oh I love all of your faves- those hand soaps are some of my favorite things too!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your friend's loss and have prayed for her! And I cannot imagine 27 inches of snow! I don't think I would handle that with much grace. (And by "I don't think," of course, I mean, "I KNOW!!!") - bekah
ReplyDeleteThe 4 soap option made me laugh out loud, but I love it!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you were sick. Whenever I have a cold I seem to get laryngitis!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear you've had another rough week! That snow is insane. I was so relieved that the 10+ inches they were predicting for our area seems to have just vanished (perhaps it went to you?!). I hope the tea continues to help as you heal and a few of those yummy chocolates can't hurt.
ReplyDeleteI'm here for soap being the highlight of the week! Hope you're feeling better soon.
