Week 26: Something I Could Never Get Tired Of Doing

reading during my first readathon, April 2015

If you've been reading this blog for any amount of time at all, you likely won't be surprised to hear that my answer to this question is: Reading! Preferably with a drink in hand -- hot tea, a cold Coke, or coffee-hot chocolate.

An interesting fact is that, except for horror, I read just about any and every thing. You name it, I like to read it.

A lot of the time, when I am feeling stressed and I need to decompress, or gain some sanity, I tell Dave I need, "to eat a salad for supper, lie in bed, and read." Thankfully, he is very understanding about this since it happens about once a week, or so :)

For my birthday, Dave has often given me a day off just to read a new book without interruptions. It is seriously one of the best gifts ever.

Sadly, reading is mostly a solitary occupation, unless you are reading out loud to someone else and that just isn't as relaxing. However, thankfully, Sam seems to have picked up my love of reading. I was so thrilled he joined me in the readathon this past October.

I will end with this amazing mug which Janice, another person who understands reading, gave me a couple of years ago. It's amazing because it is so true -- a long book, a big mug of tea, and I am one happy person.

  1. As soon as I read this prompt, I knew exactly what you'd be writing about :) I can't decide what mine should be because eventually I get tired of just about anything!

  3. Yep, I totally could have guessed this about you! ;-) Please please have Dave have a discussion with Eddie about birthday treats. Days off to spend time reading are fantastic!

  4. I love reading too!! (As you might have been able to by my obsessive questions for book reviews....;). And that is a GREAT gift idea! I don't really "need" anything but I would love to take a whole day off and read with no interruptions.... Laundry, dishes, homework, fighting, messes, etc!

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
