You've got a diamond
You've got nine men
You've got a hat
and a bat
And that's not all
You've got the bleachers
Got 'em from spring 'til fall
You got a dog
and a drink
And the umpire's call
Waddaya want?
Let's play ball!
Okay (okay)
Blue Jays (Blue Jays)
Let's (Let's) Play (Play) Ball!
Lyrics and Blue Jays art from here. You can listen to the whole song here. The part of the song I quoted is always sung at The Skydome during the 7th inning stretch, and then we also sing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame." I didn't know there were more words, than what I've used in the post, until I listened to that video. You've got a hat
and a bat
And that's not all
You've got the bleachers
Got 'em from spring 'til fall
You got a dog
and a drink
And the umpire's call
Waddaya want?
Let's play ball!
Okay (okay)
Blue Jays (Blue Jays)
Let's (Let's) Play (Play) Ball!
Also, sorry the pictures of the kids and I running the bases aren't that great but I wanted to preserve them for posterity :) On the Jumbotron picture, Rachel (in pink) and I (in white) are the first people running, if you follow the baselines. For the other two pictures, in the one on the left, Sam is the first runner (in a red shorts and a blue shirt) and Rachel and I are right behind him. In the one on the right, Rachel and I are the first runners.
Awesome! Baseball is the best thing about summer in my book.
ReplyDeleteWhen did you first take the kids to a baseball game? My husband is a huge Phillies fan and we want to take Aaron but I'm not sure why. I myself can barely last a full baseball game because I find it boring (I'm more of a football person myself), but the hot dogs and beer usually sustain me at least till the 7th inning.
ReplyDelete*when, not why
ReplyDeleteI love that you guys are getting to enjoy lots of baseball this summer, and you know I love the running the bases pictures. I always love watching Eddie and the kids run the bases while I take the pictures. Hehe!
