And Then This Happened...

Remember how yesterday I said that some days I want to homeschool??? Well, the other day I saw these beans at Bulk Barn and I remembered seeing somewhere that kids enjoyed making roads in trays of beans. So I bought six different kinds that were all different sizes and colours.
I gave each kid a cookie sheet full of beans on a towel on the living room floor, some cars, and told them to have fun.
And they did. A little too much fun.
It took awhile to clean them all up, as you can likely imagine, and now I have a whole bucket of beans that I don't know what to do with. If you want to try this yourself, just give me a call and I will do my best to talk you out of it :) And if I don't succeed, at least I'll send you the beans!

PS. Normally I don't blog much on the weekends but this weekend is special as we are attempting to toilet train Rachel. So if you are really interested (or really bored), you can check out the all the successful happenings (think positive, right?!?!) at our house this weekend. Go Rachel! Preferably on the potty :)

  1. Oh my! I've made a bean bucket for my little girls before. We learned quickly it's an outside toy. We also learned quickly that beans grow really fast. ha! Good luck this weekend potty training Miss Rachel! I can't wait to see how it goes. I'm sure that she'll do great. I think we are officially off of diaper duty for good now. Karsyn has went a whole week without going potty in her pull up at night. Yay!

  3. For the beans, I think you could make some lovely art with just some construction paper and elmer's glue. I think I remember making projects like that in school. ;-) Good luck with the potty training!

  4. My guess is that you won't be eating them now? LOL. Great idea, though!! You're a brave momma. Not sure I would be brave enough to do that. Like your friend said, what about art? Or you can just keep them for next time?

    1. My dad said if I boiled them they would be sterilized and we could make chili out of them. I think I'll just go with the art idea my friend Sherry had!

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
