Some Links, Some Random Photos And May Review

Read about some differences between Canada and The States here. I don't agree with all of them but it's a good start!

Sam is (slightly) famous! You have to click on the pictures until you get to the third one. This picture was also on the front page of the hard copy edition for May 28, 2013.
Rachel decided to try out snake charming as a career one day. I think she has a successful future ahead of her!
We had communion at our church on Pentecost Sunday. I loved the display table with all the different kinds of bread. I did not like the fact that Rachel started screaming as soon as the bread passed her by and we had to take her out to the back for the rest of the service. Thankfully they serve communion outside of the sanctuary as well.
Thankfully, shortly after we started playing Candyland with Sam, he taught Rachel a version which the two of them enjoy playing together. Hours of Candyland without adult participation -- yes please!
Rachel may not use her high chair much anymore but that doesn't mean we can get rid of it. Funny Bunny needs somewhere to sit after all. And Rachel is very safety conscious -- Funny Bunny always gets strapped in.

And now for further randomness, how did May do? Well, it was a pretty awesome month! It included...

My Birthday, complete with flying lessons! +12
Planting 144 annuals and other good gardening days! +7
Squirrels eating nine of my plants -3
Sam, Rachel and I all got sick -6
A fun train trip with Sam's preschool +3
An early morning walk/run for charity which was fun for the whole family +6
Getting Fiestaware!!! +2
Frost warnings, meaning I had to cover (or bring in) my plants -3
An amazing tea time with good friends +8
41 Before 41: Somewhat successful, somewhat... not +4 -3
My 1000th blog post +5
We won't talk about the zero gym visits -10

So May's total ended up being +22, which rates just behind March. May, you were good to me so thanks :) Every night before dinner we go around the table and say what we are thankful for from the day. I like the mindfulness of appreciating the good things which have happened during the day. Doing these monthly reviews reminds me that there is always something good which has happened during the month and it's good to be mindful of those things.

And now ends the most random blog post ever. Happy Saturday!

  1. I seriously don't know how you planted 144 annuals. I planted probably about 30 last night and it took forever. Then again, you're much more expert at this than I. :)

And I would give Fiestaware at least a 4. A plus for every syllable of a word that's fun to say! :)

    1. Yeah, in retrospect I should have given it a higher grade.

And I don't know why I planted 144 annuals because now I have to care for them all summer. I'm reaping the consequences of my folly :)

    1. It totally made me laugh at how insistent she was about wearing it so I knew I had to capture the moment :)

  3. I am going to waste some serious time on that Canada vs US Tumblr page...and learn so much! And I almost died laughing at the picture/comment about Rachel's snake-charming career. I hear there will be quite a demand for them in about 20 years, so good choice!!

  4. Um, you put 3 exclamation points behind Fiestaware but only gave it +2. Obviously, something is wrong with that. Haha! Glad May was another great month for you!

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
