A Very Special Visit

When we registered Sam for Jr. Kindergarden at the end of March we found out that, once he was in his school's system, he could borrow books from the school's library even though he isn't a student there for the current school year. Yesterday morning we finally had time to walk to his new school and get a book. Sam looked at a bunch of different books and finally chose Franklin's Nickname. And we've read it to him a bunch of times since then! It will be fun to go to Sam's school library and get books, hopefully on a weekly basis, until the school closes in June. I think it's a great way for Sam to start to feel at home there and I'm so excited that it gives Sam a sense of belonging. Hopefully in September, at least one part of the school will be familiar to him.

EDITED TO ADD: I think I need an editor. Or an award. I used the word "school" seven time in this post and it's not that long. Sorry :(

  2. I love it! The library is such a special place--especially at that young age. :)

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
