Friday Favourite Moments 2025 #27

I don't know how many of you are reading blogs on July 4th but I'm posting my "Friday Favourite Moments" on an actual Friday this week and that is my personal celebration! Hahaha!!! Without further ado, let me get on with my "favourite moments" from the week.

1) Biking and supper out with Sam and Dave

To celebrate the beginning of my summer break, Sam, Dave, and I biked uptown to eat at a burger restaurant. The biking was fun, the food was great, and Rachel was away at a friend's cottage, so it was the perfect place to visit as she doesn't love burgers.

2) Saturday morning with Dave

No alarms set, coffee-hot chocolate in the back yard, the temperature was warm without being hot, laundry hanging on the line, and Dave -- this was an absolutely perfect morning!

3) Anniversary dinner

I talked about this a bit in my post yesterday but Dave and I went out for dinner the night before our anniversary. We enjoyed the "trust us" menu at a restaurant in our downtown -- six courses and we had no idea what we were eating until it was presented to us. This was one of the best dinners Dave and I had ever eaten, and if it wasn't so expensive, we'd be eating there once a month. This was a super-fun anniversary experience and one Dave and I will remember for a long time.

The restaurant was called "Odd Duck" and I thought this banana duck was hilarious!

4) Sunday morning weeding

One of the best things about being on summer break is that we have very little scheduled. So on Sunday morning, Dave and I got busy weeding. We each had our own spots in the yard to work on. My lilies are so much happier now and I even made inroads into the day lilies. Now I just need to finish the rest of the day lily bed. One of these days...

 5) Strawberries and ice cream breakfast brunch

We always kick off the first official day of summer break with a strawberries and ice cream breakfast, although with teenagers it's turned into more of a "brunch." The kids always want to wait to have this celebration until I'm done work for the summer too, which I really appreciate. So this was us on Monday morning. I really love this tradition of ours!

6) Canada Day with the Blue Jays

Our national holiday was July 1st, Canada Day. We decided to go see the Jays play with friends of ours. It was a red replica jersey giveaway with Vladdy's name and number on it. We lined up at 10:30 and the gates didn't open until 1. Thankfully, we enjoyed visiting with our friends and had access to shade while we waited. It was so fun to be at a Jays' game on Canada Day. They had a huge flag covering the entire outfield. And the Jays won the game over the Yankees which made the whole day extra special! :)

7) Tied for first in the AL East

Thanks to winning the first three games against the Yankees, as of Wednesday night, the Jays were tied for first in the AL East. As of May 25, they were 7 games back of first place behind Boston, Tampa Bay, and the Yankees so I'm super excited how well they are doing right now!!! Baseball always makes me happy, and when the Jays are on top, I'm extra thrilled!!!
So those were my favourite moments from the week. It was a great first week of summer with a lot of fun happening, but also just some slower days at home, which I also love.

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
