Currently: July 2025

I am late linking up with Jennifer for "Currently." Summer has started off surprisingly busy and I just haven't had as much time to blog as I've wanted to. But I love linking up with Jennifer so I'm joining in, even though I'm late.

Well, I am "loving" being on summer break. I'm currently on day 3  and thus far I've read, run some errands, had some appointments, and spent a lot of time sleeping as well as reading in the backyard. I think I've extra enjoyed this week because my last week of work was so stressful.

You know I'm in full relaxation mode when I'm doing puzzles in the middle of the day!

I am "savouring" every slow morning drinking coffee-hot chocolate with Dave in the backyard. These mornings are even better when there's a load of laundry on the line.

 

[celebrating]

We've been "celebrating" so much these past few days. We celebrated our 17th anniversary (a day early) on Saturday with a special dinner out, we celebrated the start of our summer break with our annual strawberries and ice cream breakfast, and we celebrated Canada Day at the ball park yesterday. There's been a lot of "celebrating" going on!

[remembering]

The Blue Jays have been playing really well lately. And what with being at the game on Tuesday, I've been "remembering" both 2015, when the Jays made the playoffs for the first time since 1993, and when we were attending games with younger kids. It's very different now that I can give them my credit card and send them for snacks on their own while I continue to enjoy the game!

The first game after the Jays made the playoffs was sooooo fun!

We've been "trying" different restaurants I was introduced to when I did an art walk in our downtown a few weeks ago. We headed to a ramen place with Sam a few weeks ago and on Saturday night Dave and I tried the "trust us" menu at another restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. The "trust us" menu meant that we were served six courses and had no idea what we would be eating at all. It was once of the best, and most memorable, meals Dave and I have ever had. I have a few more restaurants I want us to try and I'm so excited to check them out. 

So that's what's been up with us "currently." I'm so happy to be on summer break and I'm looking forward to more fun as a family, in both big and small ways.
