Currently: June 2025

Yesterday was the first Wednesday of the month and Jennifer at My Joyful Life hosted the "Currently" link up. You can find Jennifer here. I was too tired on Tuesday night to write a post so I'm working on this on Wednesday night as I watch the first game of the Stanley Cup Finals. Go Edmonton!!!

Okay, I have become one of "those people" -- I will fully admit that I am "loving" our bigger screen. We use it mostly for watching sports (or Gilmore Girls) and hockey is just so much better on the big screen. Go Oilers!!!

I am also currently "loving" the warm chocolate chip cookie Rachel just baked and brought to me!

 

And I am "loving" every single scrap of nice weather we've experienced this spring. There hasn't been a lot of it but I've soaked it all up!

When it's nice, I am reading outside, drinking a Coke with a little lime, and enjoying the warmth. I've also been watching Sam play soccer a couple of times a week. At this point in the year, if there is something I can be "doing outside" I will take the opportunity. Yesterday, I drank my first cup of coffee-hot chocolate on the back step because I was so ready to get outside! 

 

[cooking/grilling]

We have been doing a lot of "grilling" lately. We're really into grilled vegetables and Rachel and I both love grilled marinated tofu. It's soooo good! I especially enjoy our suppers when they're grilled. Give me all the grilled veggies please!!!

 

[excited about]

 I'm "excited about" the fact that three weeks from today will be our last day of school. And then I only have two days left of work after that. Summer break is so close we can taste it and we can't wait!!!

I'm also "excited about" the Stanley Cup Finals. I'm not a hockey person unless a Canadian team is doing well but then I don't want to miss a second! Hahaha!!!

A couple of days ago it was warm enough that I pulled out my skort from last year. I still really like it. And we're attending a semi-formal gala this coming weekend so I went and bought myself a pair of sparkly silver sandals. They have a bit of a heel so I'm definitely stepping outside my comfort zone with these. Wish me luck! 

So that's what's up with us "currently" -- a lot of watching hockey, a lot of being outside whenever possible, and a lot of counting down the days until summer!
