My goal this week is to get my Friday Favourite Moments post written for Friday. We shall see if that happens... This week is a little less full than last week so I have high hopes :) Until then, here are my favourite moments from last week.
1) Free ice cream and Gilmore Girls
Our local ice cream shop had Free Scoop Fridays and if your name was called, you won a free scoop. So even though it was cold a couple of Fridays ago, when they called "Rachel" we had to get ice cream! And it was so good. And then Rachel and I went home and watched seven episodes of Gilmore Girls. It was exactly the Friday night we needed! We are well into Season 2 right now and Jess has just entered the picture :)
2) Motivated Rachel
You may have heard me mention (a time or twelve) about how cold our spring has been. Saturday was another one of those days and I was generally unmotivated and grumpy. About mid-afternoon, when I was complaining (yet again), Rachel dragged me outside to do some weeding. "Come on Mom, I'll help." We spent over an hour weeding, Dave came out too, we got a lot done, and my mood was very improved. My favourite was that this was all motivated by Rachel. Sometimes she's way more mature than I am!
3) Getting more annuals
A walk to my favourite greenhouse to get more flowers is always going to be a favourite moment!
4) Supper with Rachel
We had haircuts on Tuesday night and our hairdresser's situation has changed a little. Thus, Rachel and I went to grab some supper while Dave and Sam had their hair cut. It's almost always fun to spend one on one time with the kids.
5) Rainy walk home
Wednesday night was super busy for me at work and I called in Dave and Rachel to come help. Dave had to leave earlier than Rachel and I were ready to go. We decided to walk home, even though it was drizzling, and had fun taking silly selfies on the path. I'm always so thankful when my family pitches in to help.
6) Canadian sports teams cleaning up!
Thursday was a great night in Canadian sports. The Blue Jays piled up the runs early in their game and the Oilers won their conference finals sending them to the Stanley Cup! I was thankful Sam knew how to "split screen" our viewing so we could watch both games in action.
So those were my favourite moments from last week -- yard work, lots of time with Rachel, and more hockey action to come!
