Currently: November 2021

It's hard to believe that it's already time for another "Currently..." post with Anne at in residence. By the next "Currently" post, we'll be celebrating Channukah which is a little hard to believe. Where has the last half of 2021 gone, people?!?!

 [appreciating]

On Sunday, I was particularly "appreciating" that Sam sang three times for candy while trick or treating. He dressed up as Rick Astley and sang the first verse and chorus of "Never Gonna Give You Up" and it was awesome!!! Dave and I LOVED it!!!

[getting]

This is the prompt I struggled with the most but I guess I'm "getting" a list together of all the things which need to happen in November -- making yearly calendars, scheduling family hair cuts and then family pictures, coming up with a plan for Channukah which comes early this year, and so on and so forth. Sorry this is a little lame, but I'm not getting anything else right now.

[making]

I love reading blogs because I get so many great ideas for food to make. The latest recipe we attempted was pumpkin scones from Joanne at My Slices of Life. You can see the recipe here. Our family would highly recommend "making" these scones as they were delicious!!!

[sharing]

Really, all I'm "sharing" lately is the kids' Halloween candy -- but that's more what they're sharing with us!!! And for some reason, I'm really not into it this year. Tomorrow or Friday, I'll be sharing the books I read for the last part of October so that might be a bit more exciting :)

[wearing]

Well, I rarely do this but I saw a sweater on a blogger's post and fell in love with it. I looked in stores for a similar one (brightly coloured stripes) and couldn't find one, so I ordered it off Amazon. I love this sweater and every time I wear it, I get compliments on it (which never happens to me!). Anyways, you'll see me "wearing" this sweater all winter long.

This is not the best picture of me since I'd just gotten back from a run where I got snowed on. The sweater looks better with light coloured bottoms since the last stripe is navy but I didn't have time to change before it got too dark outside to take a picture.

On Sunday, thanks to a neighbour who is really into Halloween and was happy to loan us costumes, we were sporting a family theme. Yes, Sam dressed up like Darth Vader solely for these pictures but Dave, Rachel, and I all wore ours trick or treating. Sam was Rick Astley for everything else Halloween related but I appreciated he was willing to dress in theme for a picture :)

So that is what is up with us on this post-Halloween currently. I'm looking forward to reading the other posts in this link up although I may not get to them until this weekend. Also, if you have any great ideas for a family Halloween costume for next year, let me know! We had so much fun with this one!

Such fun pics here--that 'candy sorting' brings me back to some of my own Halloween memories. (I think the sorting was my favorite part!) Enjoy the sharing :)

And yes, the candy sorting is a BIG part of Halloween. And then the candy negotiations and trading between the kids!

  14. I am making these pumpkin scones today!!! I have leftover pumpkin to use up and as long as I have sour cream (TBD) they will be ready by lunchtime. Also, I LOVEEEEEEEE that Amazon sweater and now you are an influencer because I'm asking you for your link to buy it.

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
