Currently: April 2021

It's time for "currently" with Anne at in residence. You can find her blog here. This month we're talking about what we're arrangingcravingdiscussingenjoying, and preparing.

[arranging]

Our fridge -- we have so many leftovers right now I'm always arranging (and rearranging) our fridge. We actually ate leftovers last night for supper and it looks a lot better now.

This was before our leftovers for supper.

[craving]

I'm craving a return to normalcy. Our province is under a third lock down (sort of, see below) with the threat of more restrictions coming and this up and down is just taking a toll on me.

I'm also craving chocolate -- unfortunately, the Easter Bunny didn't bring me any and now I want some!

[discussing]

We are discussing what we can, and cannot, do under our province's new "emergency brake" (NOT a lock down; read: Really it is a lock down.) We're also discussing why ear piercing is not considered essential, much to one of my children's disappointment as they were hoping to do that over our spring break next week.

[enjoying]

I've been enjoying watching Blue Jays baseball!!! There's not much else to enjoy right now so I've been soaking up all the baseball!

[preparing]

I've been preparing stacks of books for the classrooms I am visiting. I am currently working at a school library and I visit each classroom individually. So I am always preparing stacks of books to take to each classroom/grade.

If kids can't browse in the library, then the library will come to them.

So that's what's up with me "currently." I can't wait until I can write a "currently" post without talking about Covid. Maybe by summer???

  2. Oh no!! I'm so sorry for the emergency brake!! I remember last year when our county (not our state, but our county) put restrictions on things that were not essential, and that lasted less than a week. People rebelled big time - because what may not be essential to one person really is to another! I hope that ear piercing can happen soon!!!

  3. I am so in love with the taking the library to them! What a great service. Books are so important. :)

And man, that stinks about the ear piercings! Hopefully they will get to go soon.

    1. I love that I get to take the kids books but I'm sad they can't pick their own books out.

  4. Ugh - no more lockdowns. So sorry to hear that. Hope it will be short-lived. No doubt, it is what kept the bunny from delivering your chocolate. Hope you get that remedied soon:)

  7. Working in a school library sounds so fulfilling! It must fill you with joy to be able to deliver books to kiddos when they can't browse the library themselves. You're a library hero, in our book!

  8. I hope the lock-downs are over soon. I got my first vaccine today. :) Sadly we lost a relative on my side of the family this week to covid...so sad. I usually don't have strong opinions, but I think we should all do our part and get vaccinated.

  9. Being able to pick books to take to classrooms, ahhhh so fun! I really hope your not-lockdown-lockdown goes by quickly. I *think* Texas won't be doing that again and I'm so thankful for that.

  11. So sorry to hear you are back in a lock-down. I too have been craving ALL the chocolate and yet the Easter bunny didn't bring me anything either.

    1. Yes, as of today we're in lockdown and kids are officially online after the April Break. It's going to be another long period of not great...

  15. I love that you're bringing the library to the classrooms! The library at my son's elementary school has simply been closed all year (and we haven't been browsing in our community library either), and he definitely misses being able to happen upon new-to-him books. Hang in there with the lockdown! We haven't had such official lockdowns in place, but our family essentially treats the situation as such in how we live - the numbers in Michigan are quite worrying again :( I agree - fingers crossed we have other things on the brain by summer!

  16. If you would like an example of why ear piercing is not essential, you can remind them that I am a 35 years old and never had my ears pierced and I have a lead a very successful life (in my own opinion, LOL). In fact, I would argue that the lack of ear piercing has lead to MORE financial success because I'm not wasting money on metal being attached to my body. :)

  17. I'm so sorry about the lockdown. Here in NJ, USA, our cases are on the rise again and it's troubling.

    1. Yeah, our province's cases are too high so now we're officially in lockdown and, as of today, the kids are back to online schooling after the April Break. Boo.

  18. Yay for you to take the library to the kids. They will love you for that. And so will their teachers.
I am sorry you have moved backward again with the lockdown. Surely to heavens as the weather warms, things will improve.

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
