Strawberry Fields Forever

In our yard we have three raised beds. The previous owners used them for vegetables. Since we are planning on sticking with our CSA for now, we don't really plan on using them that way. So we (okay, let's be honest, I) have been dreaming about what we want to plant in them. When I was talking with my parents last week, Dad offered to bring some strawberry plants from their garden in Saskatchewan. I said, "Yes please!" and suddenly knew how one of the beds would be filled.

My mom and dad are visiting here for a few days (staying mostly at my aunt's house) before they go on a trip to Portugal. But yesterday they arrived to pick Sam up from school and then we planted some strawberries. Oh, okay, I just took pictures. I cannot wait to eat from these plants next summer. Whoo hoo!!!

  2. Oooo, I love strawberries! We'll come help pick! He he! You mom is so cute, and I just love her and Rachel working side by side. Great memories!

I don't know what to do with the plants. I really have no room for them in the house. :-(

  3. Random observation: We have the same trowel. Don't remember where I got it.

For some reason, I though strawberries were annuals.... maybe that's because mine die every year when I try them. Can't wait to try yours!

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
