Kitchener Is The Place Where...

... I get a bunch of stuff done while the kids are away! :) What, you might ask, is all that stuff? Read on...
I got a head start on packing, in preparation for moving next month!
I chopped about 3-4 feet off the hedge (you can read more in this blog post).
I was able to clean the whole house during the day.
I got our bikes ready for summer (what's that, it's already mid-July!?! Shhh!).

However, it hasn't been all work, work, work, either. Kitchener is also the place where...
I held the first annual "Movies Natasha would hate and never agree to watch with me" Film Festival.
Okay, so it doesn't have the glitz and glamour of Cannes or Sundance... I had a good time!
I get a chance to make some meals that are a bit more ambitious (and less kid-oriented) than usual.
Above: chickpea and sundried tomato risotto.
We have a huge storm that knocks down trees all around the city, and leaves me
without power for five hours. Okay, that one wasn't much fun, but it was interesting...
I get to celebrate my friend Donny's birthday by sharing a sushi boat with him.
Finally, it is the place where random woodland creatures stop by to say hi.
Maybe it was attracted by all the "greenery" on the lawn? :)

To sum up, I've had a good week on my own, and am very happy with everything I was able to get done, but I am definitely looking forward to seeing Natasha and the kids tomorrow evening.

  2. Awe, is there anything you can't do, Dave? It is seriously amazing what you men can accomplish. Somehow you can clean a whole house, get heaps of laundry done, and still find time to watch movies, sports, and even take an afternoon nap. Well, that's what mine can do. Sounds like you are just as good at multitasking. Glad you had a good week!

  3. Hah! My husband watches all kinds of stupid (according to me) movies that I would never agree to watch whenever the kids and I are gone too! Good luck with the upcoming move! Amy

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
