I'm going to try and write a weekly renovation post. We'll see how exciting these updates are! Here's what happened this past week:
Monday was playroom demolition.
By the end of Tuesday we had a "play platform" instead of a playroom!
On Wednesday they got rid of the floor...
...and started demolition in the basement.
On Thursday, they got a lot further in the basement.
On Thursday night, Rachel and I cleared the bins out of the little hallway and we also emptied the back storage room.
And on Friday morning (at 6:30am!), Dave and I cut vines off the house.
...and the rest of the basement was demolished. I'm assuming the trench in the floor is for bathroom plumbing.
We are now back down to having one working toilet, which has been a little more irritating than I anticipated.
My biggest learning from this week is that I can't believe how quickly laundry goes when I use the dryer for everything! Hahaha! Since I've lost almost all of my "hanging laundry" space, I'm actually using our dryer.
So that's the report from week one of renovations. Come back next week for another update.

So exciting! I am sure it is hard to see your vision during the work but I am sure you know it will pay off!
ReplyDeleteWow!!! That is huge progress!!! Cheering you on through the messy middle!
