I Spy: Week 26

We are now slightly over halfway through the year and this marks the 26th time I've linked up with Lysha at A Camera and A Cookbook for her I Spy Photo Challenge. I love sharing little pieces of life with you through these photos.

Let's Play iSpy 2021

{rocky}

This area at our fence used to be the bane of my existence. Then my parents helped me collect all the random rocks in our yard and made space for planters. Now this rocky area is one of my favourite spots in our yard!

{bird}

This really was a fortuitous incidence of me spying something! This heron was by our city hall. We had stopped by the creek to see some sculptures which have been installed along the bank and saw this bird as well! We even got to see it catch a few fish.

{natural}

Have you ever wondered what your yard would look like if you allowed it to go natural for a year? Well, this is what you would get -- huge weeds and grass that is taller than an old bathtub. This is our neighbour's yard and I'm so glad most of it is blocked from our view. Ugh. I get that they're focused on their house construction but some yard care wouldn't hurt either...

{starts with M}

Sam has two sets of cotton sheets for his bed and one of them is construction vehicles. I thought he might like an upgrade to something a little more age appropriate and he chose these mustache ones :) I had to capture this for my "starts with 'm'" photo because I think they're too funny!!!

{your choice}

Sam and I needed to finish off the last of these homemade popsicles so that we can make some fresh ones! Summer is the best!!!

    1. They were really good - and easy to make. Just freeze some lemonade and some fruit. I used regular lemonade and raspberries and blueberries which turned them pink.

  5. What a great area along the fence that you've made. Those pops looks delicious; we have yet to make any homemade ones this year.

    1. I'm so glad my parents helped with the rocky area a few years ago. I still LOVE it and it was such a disaster before.

  6. What a nice use of rocks and blocks to create an interesting planter area! I see you were fortunate enough to spot a heron this week as well!

    1. It was so funny because we went to that area to check out some new sculptures and I was so focused on them that I didn't even notice the heron until someone else pointed it out!

  7. It's always fun to see what we can do with rocks in our yard! I stacked a whole bunch of ours to make a fountain for our hummingbird visitors to play in :).

  10. You guys are the best, to take one for the team and eat the leftover popsicles so you can make some new ones!! Love it!!

    Isn't it funny how that area of your yard was your least favorite and just those small changes turned it around? I like the rocks very much. People here use very large rocks in their yard for decoration. I am not sure how they get them there...they are so heavy...but they really look nice.
    Great shot of that bird. What good fortune to see him.

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
