Product Review: eShakti

Shortly after I arrived home from New Zealand, I received an e-mail from eShakti asking if I would be willing to review one of their products. I get e-mails like this from companies once in awhile, and I always ignore them because I always figure they are spam. However this one intrigued me, and even though Dave told me it was probably spam, in my jetlagged induced haze I clicked to look at their clothing. And I fell in love.
The reason I look skeptical in all these pictures is that Dave was my photographer.
He is not a fashion photographer and I am not a model.

So I e-mailed eShakti back and said something like, "I think you made a mistake sending me this e-mail since I am not a prominent fashion blogger and don't have a lot of followers. However, if you still want me to review your products, I would be thrilled to do so." And the next day, they e-mailed back and said they wanted to work with me!

I picked out a dress and waited for it to arrive. Now one of the great things about eShakti is that you can customize the size and the style. I honestly don't remember if the size customization option was available for the products they had for bloggers to review, but I do know that I didn't take advantage of it. They did offer style customization, but I didn't want to change anything about the dress (sleeves, neckline, or skirt length). However, my measurements gave me three different sizes to order. I ordered the middle one.
When my dress arrived, I tried it on. The only thing that disappointed me about it, is that it was too loose in one spot and too tight in another. Again, this is my fault. It tells me that eShakti is right on about their sizing and it tells me that I should have tried to customize the sizing.

I have worn the dress twice, once to a potluck with a group of friends and once to a concert. The thing that completely threw me off is when I wore the dress to the potluck, Every. Single. Person. commented on how great the dress was. And this was not a potluck with people who tend to notice clothes.
I've also washed the dress twice and, hung it out to dry. It has washed really well. I didn't even need to iron it, which is good, because I don't own an iron :)

Also, this dress has pockets! I love pockets so much that when I saw a wedding dress with pockets, I ordered it immediately. So words cannot express how much I love the fact that every eShakti dress I've looked at has side seam pockets. Love!

eShakti has gorgeous clothing, and I would love to order another dress from them. I have included some of the other dresses I love below. And the best part is that the dresses below are all only $60, which feels really reasonable to me.

At one point I thought about trying to find an eShakti dress for each of you but I honestly thought you would have more fun going and browsing their website on your own. If you do find something you like, eShakti even gave me a code to give to you to get 10% off your order. It is "davenates" and it is good from today until July 4, 2014. (Originally, eShakti had given me a code which expired next week, but when I explained that the weather in Ontario wasn't cooperating for me to wear a summer dress in mid-May, and that I wouldn't be able to post this review until this week, they graciously extended the expiry date.)

Here are the code conditions:
Code has to be entered in the ‘promotional code’ box.   It is not case-sensitive.
Code can be used any number of times until the validity period.
It can be clubbed with any other promotional offer, gift coupon or gift card in the same order unless explicitly specified otherwise in the offer conditions.
This discount code is not applicable on clearance / sale, gift cards & overstock categories.
Not applicable on previous purchases.

When you register with eShakti, you also get a $25 gift coupon. And right now they have a "buy 2, get 1 free" offer. Go, browse, and let me know if you decide to get anything. I'm curious what you will find appealing about eShakti clothing.

You can find out more about eShakti on their website, on their Facebook page, on Twitter, and on Pinterest.

Disclaimer: I was provided this dress from eShakti in exchange for a honest review post. All opinions expressed are my own.

  5. Super cute- and I love that green dress! I'm lame about online shopping though because it makes me nervous to buy stuff without trying it on- was it pretty true to size?

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
