The Ways I Will Love You

We went to the library a few weeks ago and when I saw this book I knew I had to "illustrate" it with my own pictures. I first saw this idea on Kelly's Korner when she did the same thing with Little Mommy. I used pictures only from Sam's first year, or so, because I wasn't regularly blogging when Sam was little. So for those of you who knew Sam when, enjoy this walk down memory lane. And for those of you who didn't know him, enjoy this glimpse into his first year of life. So here is The Ways I Will Love You by Rachel Boehm.

I'll love you with rattles,
I'll love you with rhymes,
I'll love you with music
and storybook times.
I'll love you with seashores,
I'll love you with pails,
I'll love you with sandcastles,
and hiking on trails.
I'll love you with snuggles
and piggyback rides,
I'll love you with bear hugs
and swinging and slides.
I'll love you with pancakes,
I'll love you with snacks,
I'll love you with picnics
and days to relax.
I'll love you with puzzles,
I'll love you with glue,
I'll love you with crayons
and shape sorters too.

I'll love you with letters,

I'll love you with blocks,
I'll love you with numbers
and games of hopscotch.

I'll love you with questions,

I'll love all your news,
I'll love you with dress-up
and tying your shoes.

I'll love you with swimming,

I'll love you with walks,
I'll love you with playgrounds
and bike rides and talks.

I'll love you with libraries,

museums and zoos,
I'll love you with silliness
and noisy kazoos.

I'll love you with giggles,

I'll love you with tears,
I'll love you with kisses
and calm all your fears.

I'll love you with lullabies,

patience and praise.
I'll love you your whole life,
in so many ways!

    1. Thank you for your comment. When I read your book, which I found at my local library, I absolutely loved it because I totally show my kids love by doing things with them, as well as with hugs and kisses and by telling them. So I felt like your book was about me as a parent.

    2. Yes, exactly! I felt the same way and that is why I wrote the story. I call it "random acts of nurturing." Keep doing all those things and your kids will flourish.

  5. I find it hilarious that you changed the background on those identical dave and sam with the dinosaurs photos ;-)

Thank you for being interested in my life as I blog it and for leaving a comment. Comments make me happier than reading a good book and drinking a cold Coke. Almost :)
