Renovation Report Week 12

Last week was the week of insulation and drywall! Our rooms are starting to look more finished!!!

Tuesday was also the day that our shower surround was installed in the upstairs bathroom! (This picture is from Thursday.)

On Wednesday I got home late from work, and the workers were getting ready to leave. One of them was so kind to come back into the house and open our bedroom so I could see all the lovely drywall!!! I may have cried, I was so happy!!!

Our living room got drywalled on Thursday...

...and on Friday they started in the basement!!! Everything looks so much brighter with the drywall on.

On Friday, they also applied the first coat of plaster in our bedroom!  

This week we have a "paint meeting" which I'm super excited about! I'm going to have a hard time choosing anything but white because I love how bright everything looks right now. However, I also love colour so we shall see... And Dave might have some thoughts too :)

Learnings from this week:

There is a "vapour barrier inspection." I had no idea there were so many inspections to pass during a renovation. I'm also really glad we're passing them all!

Drywall makes me emotional! Hahaha!

Besides finishing the drywall in the basement (cue more tears!) and continuing the mudding process, I don't know what's on tap for this week. Tune in next week to find out!!!
