I just didn't have the energy to write a blog post on Tuesday night, the night before our first day of school. However, I still wanted to link up with Jennifer at My Joyful Life for the "Currently" link up. You can find Jennifer here.
[loving]
I am "loving" September baseball, when it's not stressful that is! Hahaha! In case you don't know, my Blue Jays are in first place in the entire American League (aaaaahhhh!!!), and we are so hopeful they'll not only make it to the playoffs this year, but play far into October. *fingers crossed*
I am also "loving" my new pumpkins from Janice. She crocheted them, had some extras, and I immediately snapped them up. Rachel claimed one for her room but I kept the rest!
[beginning]
I'm "beginning" the calmest school start I've ever had. I keep telling my principal I must be missing something because I am so not stressed. I started a task on the first day of school that I usually don't get to until the second week. What is happening?!?!? (Let's keep the calm vibes happening though, okay, thanks.)
I'm also "beginning" to encourage the kids to do more cooking each week. A few nights ago, Sam started off strong with Chicken Alfredo. It was good (and I don't even eat chicken!). I'll keep you posted as to how this new venture unfolds...
And of course, we're "beginning" school! Rachel is beginning Grade 9 (and high school!), Sam is beginning Grade 11, and I am beginning my fourth full year as a middle school secretary. There are a lot of beginnings happening around here!
[ending]
What with the beginning of school, that means the "ending" of our summer. I *think* I'm mentally ready for fall though.
My weekly summer CSA bouquets are also "ending" and I am not ready for that. I really need a fall flower (besides my outdoor mums).
[picking]
I'm looking forward to "picking" out my mums this weekend. My local greenhouse just opened for the season on Tuesday so I'm excited to visit.
I really need to get "posting" about our Europe trip. I want to write down the stories so I remember them. And I'm excited to share some of our adventures with all of you.
Other than that, I am just trying to keep up with "posting" for some of the monthly blog parties I join. I've been late for almost every single one of them for the past couple of months. Ugh. One of these days I will have more time to blog again, right?!?!?!
So that is what's up with us this first week of September. I'm looking forward to catching up with all of your "Currently" posts -- hopefully this weekend :)
Love reading that you are not stressed- may that continue! Yes! Can't wait to read all about your trip to Europe!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great school year! Good that it's started out calm!
ReplyDeleteHurray for a calm start to the school year.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cozy September update! Loving the calm school start, the crocheted pumpkins, and the Blue Jays hype, fingers crossed for October magic! Our Braves were a flop this year. Can’t wait to hear about your Europe trip when you’re ready to share.
ReplyDeleteThose crochet pumpkins are so cute! Wishing your Jay's a fabulous rest of the season. I can't wait to hear more about your trip.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the Blue Jays run these days too, even though the ONE game this season we could attend (in Cincinnati) was one they didn't win. Boo. So glad the school year has started calmly and smoothly, and with the kids pitching in to do some cooking! Hope all those good things continue!
