Every once in awhile I find something fun to do on Instagram. And then I start following whatever account it is that offers the fun thing I want to do, and then I dream about doing that experience. This is what happened with "Blossoms and Brunch" which is offered by a local florist/floral school. I'd been dreaming about doing one of these events for over a year. I happened to mention it to Janice one evening and she said, "Let's do that for our birthday celebration!!!" I was sold and we signed up immediately!!!
For the past couple of years Janice and I have found a fun event to celebrate our birthdays together rather than giving each other gifts. So in mid-April we headed off to enjoy a "blossoms and brunch" event.
This florist/flower school is the cutest!!!
A little decorated cozy alley outside of the shop.
The display on the left greeted us as we walked in. The flowers on the right are just some of what we made our bouquets with.
Starting off with mimosas! Our birthday event last year started with mimosas too. I like this tradition!!!
This was a photo opportunity. I don't know that I've ever held an armful of alstromeria but I would absolutely do it again. I was in flower heaven!!!
More of the flowers set up for our use and Janice and I among the flowers. Also, the whole place smelled so good.
This was Janice's brunch plate and we laughed at the fact that her jam made a face on her bagel. It was totally unintentional.
All of flowers set out, and me trying to make a bouquet. It was harder than it looks.
My bouquet attempt and my and Janice's bouquets wrapped up and ready to go.
Then we got to go out to the alley and pick flowers for an indoor planter. I chose mini daffodils. They were pretty and blooming in time for Easter.
Janice and I, full of brunch, and with our finished bouquets and planters.
This was such a fun event and I'm so glad I mentioned it to Janice and that she was excited to experience it with me. I'm already dreaming about the next time I can go and who I can convince to come join me. I definitely need more practice making bouquets. And drinking mimosas!!!
This sounds so fun!
